Celebrity hair stylist John Barrett, which has operated a salon at New York City’s Bergdorf Goodman in midtown for 17 years, will be opening a second salon at 54 Bond Street in NYC’s NoHo neighborhood later this year.

The new 3000 sq. ft. space is the first of six new John Barrett locations slated to open across the country and will be designed by architect Daniel Romualdez.

The Bond Street location will provide access to select new merchandise, and will offer an opportunity to pursue new creative retail collaborations.

John Barrett, chairman and creative director of John Barrett Holdings Inc., commented:

“The salon at Bergdorf Goodman is very close to my heart – it’s a gem – we are now taking the magic we created there and bringing it to life across the country as we evolve and expand the John Barrett brand.”

The new salon will be located on the site of the old Bouwerie Lane Theater. It has been home to world-renowned painters, composers, screen sirens, muses and musicians, including Lauren Hutton, Jane Russell and Pearl Bailey as well as artists like Bruce Marden and Helen Hays.

Funding for the new enterprise comes from a private equity investment group led by distinguished investor James R. Hedges IV, who also holds title of CEO at John Barrett Holdings Inc.
